Yes! Finally I got called from my private teacher that he has recieved a festival clarinet for me. It is so nice with perfect tune and sound quality. I'm so happy with it. One thing is that I'm confused with the new Eb key and I think I need some practice on that. I guess many people don't like it but I kanna like it. I have a question, though. There is a plastic cap (it says Patent Pending) on the lower joint, which holds the left finger B/F key. My teacher also says that he hasn't seen that. Should I keep it there? What good does it do?
I'm so exited with this awsome clarinet. Thank you.

The plastic cap is there for shipping purposes. A lot of pro's keep the lower keys blocked down when not in use. It does help keep keys in adjustment. Try it for a while...it won't hurt anything.

I hand selected my Festival from several in Dallas and none of them had the plastic cap you described. Must have been a shipping thing.
The Festival is an excellent choice. Hope you enjoy it for years and years.

The plastic thing is something new on Buffet clarinets. I've been seeing them on clarinets in the stores and on a new Buffet International my friend just bought. My Festival that I bought over a year ago did not come with this, however.

I bought 3 Buffets within the last 4 months and neither had that on them. So, perhaps my dealer removed them when he took delivery. I bought all three from Brook Mays Music.
