I found a tenor sax on ebay, a monique silvery-white sax, beautiful if i do say so myself. It is fully loaded, never been played, with a sweet case (sorry for the young person word lol) and a mouthpiece for only 650. Right now, i am playing the schools Bundy II. Not the best saxophone in the world by far. This sax is classified as a Top of the line Beginner instrument. And basically, i am a beginer, and just play it on mondays and sundays. Should i get this? Thanks ted...

these are cheaply and poorly made chinese imported saxes that dont play any better than your school,s bundy2 . you would be better off getting a vingage sax for the same amount of money. if you wanted a newer horn look for a jupiter .these are common and are a very good selmer copy. of course save up and get a yamaha 52 .this is the best horn for the money period.

Monique instruments are very poorly made. There are lots of import saxes being stenciled these days and most come from the same factory. My advise is to get something else. Just because it looks "cool" doesn't make it play any better.

Don't buy any Oriental Western style instruments, except for some Japanese brands.
To my knowledge, at this time there is no such thing as a decent Chinese, Taiwanese, or other Oriental (again except certain Japanese brands) Western style instrument worth buying.

The Koreans make lovely violins 'cellos etc much better than anything from the rest of the world in the same price range.

I have a great Chinese violin. Chinese (and Korean et. al) violins have gotten significantly better in the last decade or so, now they're every bit as good as European instruments and less expensive. Maybe in 10 years the same thing will happen with clarinets. But for now, don't get it if it doesn't have strings, tuning pegs and a bridge.

The Monique line comes with some lovely accessories; a silver-plated dustpan and hand broom to collect the pieces that fall out during auditions.
Better to get a decent second-hand horn LOCALLY that you can play first.
Jeezit the c**p being sold to kids these days!
