I altered a guitar gig bag to have 4+ inches of padding! the case is extremely light and pretty compact. The clarinet has no room to move around! Hey mabey i could make and market cases! lol jk... I will tell you guys how it holds out throughout the week!

Just checked the Altieri web site and they have a gig bag for bass clarinet. No picture, but they are willing to send you info. I ordered mine!! http://www.altieribags.com/
Still interested in how your idea works out. Good luck!!!
