Buffet Epoxy R-13 and Buffet Vintage
Author: Frank O'Brien

I would very much like to hear your comments on the

a - Buffet R-13 that is made from composed blackwood dust and expoxy,

b - Buffet Vintage R-13.

I am talking mainly about tonal qualities and evenness of scale.

Thanks so much.

Frank,
Do a search here on

Greenline

and

Vintage

to find a lot of previous material.

Yes, do as MarkC suggests. A month or so earlier, two pro's and I tried out 3 Vintages with somewhat differing conclusions on details as to rank 1, 2 or 3, but were generally quite satisfied with their quality. I'll review my comments to see if there is much to add, not having added to my LeB L7 and big-bore Selmer collection. Don

I own a greenline R-13 and love it. It has a really great sound and is very well built.
But, as mentioned above, there have been extensive discussions about this subject and much information is available.

I own a buffet vintage, and absolutely love it. They have a very centered and even tone.

When I tried the Vintage I really liked it. _Great intonation_ & by far one of the most beautiful instruments you'll lay your eyes on. My only question was projection. Also, the one I tried didnt have much ring to it. Like all things, YMMV.
