I started a thread on this years ago, but we have new members and perhaps new ideas. Most of what I have found are arrangements; some good (the Mozart Church Sonata arranged by Ettlinger), some not so good. Original compositions would be welcome.

I have done several works for clarinet and organ which are available on Sheet Music Plus and would welcome readers to check them out. There are two sets of chorale preludes for the Christmas season and a few other individual works. Most of the works are for college-level and above clarinetists. You'll need a good organist, too. EC Schirmer publishes another set of mine that is suitable for recital or worship services. Search under my name "James Sclater."

I hope this link works. The piece is "Threnody for clarinet and organ." I have had the pleasure of playing it. LOVED it.

One thing I hadn't thought of is the repertoire for voice (soprano, alto or tenor) and organ, with the clarinet replacing the voice, of course. Thank you for your suggestions and I'm looking forward to discovering your pieces, Mr. Sclater.

Marcia: Thank you for the suggestion, Marcia. I love Threnody. It reminds me a bit of the music of Arvo Pärt.
