I recently purchased a clarinet off Ebay under the stencil "Guy Humphery" and I was wondering if anyone could identify the original maker.

"Guy Humphrey" was a prolific stencil brand typically manufactured in France during the mid-20th century, most commonly produced by Beaugnier or Leblanc (Noblet). To identify the specific maker, check the "Made in" stamp; if it is marked "Paris" with a serial number format matching Noblet, it likely originated from their factory. However, because these Official Site were distributed by the Gretsch company, they occasionally sourced from various smaller French workshops, so features like the keywork style and the presence of a "Made in France" engraving are the best indicators of its true pedigree.
