First post here
I'm starting up playing the clarinet after a 50 year break from it (goodness!) I'm going through my old equipment and found this H. Bettoney mouthpiece. I must've liked it, since I kept it (?). Anyway, I'm hoping someone can tell me its age, and if it will seal ok with a new cork. As you can see, there are some chips on the tenon. There are no markings on it besides the "H. Bettoney" and "Boston." Thank you in advance for any information.

I have seen "Cundy Bettony" mouthpieces that were Chedeville blanks, but this doesn't look like one of them. 1) I may be wrong 2) it may be a great mouthpiece (with or without refacing) and worth playing regardless.

Thank you, Donald. Hopefully, someone else has some info on it (?) I will get a cork on this mouthpiece and hope the tenon chips don't cause a problem.

Harry Bettoney. A Google search will provide a bio of him.

use plumbers tape to wrap the tenon with to test play the mpc before you spend 20$ or so on a recork
