Hi,
a question from a composer! Does this make a good effect on in the low register (2nd clarinet) and especially in the bass clarinet or does it blur too much?
Tempo is about quarter note = 92
I wondered whether it might be to heavy/stolid or blurred, it shall be soft but also precise enough to give a good 'swinging' bottom for a solo.
Notation is transposed.

This can be clearly played unless tempo is extremely fast. A little something starts going when I play it in my head.

Should sound great. It's up to the performers and of course to the conductor to ensure precision (more separation, more accent?).

Voicings where the bass and tenor voices are right next too each other are typically avoided (same with the bass voice crossing above into the tenor's space). These voicings sound rumbly and the pitches a bit indistinct. If rumbly and indistinct is what you're going for, though, by all means. If you want it to sound a bit clearer, however, you could drop the bass clarinet an octave or reposition the Bb clarinets.
