There is great information on this board, but sliding the screen back and forth to read every sentence is driving me crazy. Can you change it at all?

Increase the resolution of your screen. It fits fine in an 800x600 display, which is a pretty small display nowadays.
If you're using WebTV - my condolences.

Newbie,
Welcome!!
I am assuming you mean a left/right sliding to read the sentences. The board appears on my screen just fine, so I suspect the problem may be with your own "preference" settings in your internet program (Netscape, Explorer, whatever). Try adjusting them, and let us know!

I suspect the setting you need to change is on your operating system (probably windows) . Go down and click start then click settings, then control panel, then display. Then click the tab marked "settings". Then look for a slider down there and move it.
Another way is to look at the bottom of your page, if there is a monitor icon you can right click on that and make the change you need.
The point of this is it is a problem with your settings not with the buletin board. You will suddenly discover that lots of other sites look better also.
Cheers, Terry

Have you tried clicking the little square at the top right of your screen?
And then maybe F11 if you want more lines to show?

It could also be that his Font, or text size is set to large. If in windows go to the views button at the top of the screen and go to Text Size and select a smaller text size, that may help.

I am familiar with the problem and it is not always so easily fixed. I have learned to live with the same problem due to my antique 640x480 monitor. Some day (if it ever shows any signs of wearing out) I will replace the monitor and solve the problem. Until then I scroll. However, at least with Navigator, scrolling it quick and easy if you just click the center of the scroll bar at the bottom of the screen (it will jump from one extreme to the other with each click).
