Ok, here is another "survey." I wonder if any of you have experience with either the Viotto mouthpieces modified to fit a French barrel or the Wurlitzers that do the same?
I had a year's worth of re-training myself to not bite using the both of the above and could very well have stayed with them. My issue (as always) had more to do with projection. I felt in the end that I was able to play louder (that means greater difference between my loud and my soft, not playing loud all the time) on my trusty Boehm mouthpieces.
The combination of the German facing and German reed lend a good portion of the German tone quality to the sound (the instruments themselves round out the experience of course). So there is a good reason to experiment with these if one is interested.
It would be great if any of you with good or bad experiences could share your thoughts.
