Just bought this but can't find any info on age. The new Beechlers has a diamond shaped tooth cushion and no lig lines. This is a 5S and in pristine condition. Plays great, but would like to know more about it. Beechler website has no historical info and I can't find anything on the internet either.

Yeah it plays really nice. Lots better than Brilhart. Still wondering the age and meaning of the 5S designation however.

5 is the no of the facing and s most likely means short facing length or chamber size

It could just be surface texture, but the wear pattern on the lay of that mouthpiece, as revealed by the light/dark patches in photo 2, seem to suggest the lay isn’t particularly balanced or even on both sides. Yet it plays well. I’d be interested to know how measures.
