Hey, I am starting to look at colleges & stumbled across BGSU--I was wondering if anyone knew anything about their clarinet professor, Kevin Schempf. I am particularly interested in speaking with people who have studied with him.

TIA,
- Jessica

I didn't study with Kevin, but he is a good friend of mine. He is a fantastic clarinet player and a golden human being. I mean this sincerely, he is one of the most genuine, nicest people on earth.

What I have heard about his teaching is all positive. He is a student of Stanley Hasty and had many years of orchestral experience in the Syracuse Symphony. He gave a superb performance at last summer's clarfest. He also played great at his own BGSU modern clarinet weekend (where he was nice enough to invite me to perform as well).

I hope you get a chance to meet him.
