After 1 year of daily playing the C sharp key just broke.
I’m in the Boston area and my repair guy suggested strongly sending it to Yamaha service center
The only address I come up with is in Illinois(Burr Ridge)
Anyone have any experience with this?

Unless you are under warranty you should just have your tech braze the key back together. Otherwise you will spend more money and time shipping your instrument off to be fixed.
If you are under warranty you have to go through the shop you bought it from.

It's not hard for a legitimate repair shop to get parts from Yamaha.

Is this the C#/G# key on the upper joint?
If it is, there was something wrong with it. I cannot see how you could break it just playing...
