This company seems, according to their homepage from 2013, „maintained by the H.N.White family“ to be still in operation (http://www.hnwhite.com/Clarinets.htm). They are offering vintage instruments for sale on quite a large scale and also purchase of „H N White“ instruments. I am about selling a „Silver King“ and would appreciate if somebody in this forum could share his experience with this firm.

Hello Michael,
About five years ago, in the process of moving and downsizing, I sold off some instruments that I never actually played. One was a King New Voll True curved soprano sax that I had accepted as payment for some services. It was a lovely instrument, with satin finish silver plate and gold plated keys, gold wash in the bell, and gold in the engraving area. It had been completely restored shortly before I took possession, and was pretty near mint cosmetically and played perfectly. My more recent vintage Yani soprano was just more comfortable for me, so I decided to move it on to someone who would appreciate it.
I exchanged emails with Chris, from the H N White website, who I believe is a White great grandson. He was very knowledgeable and helpful, and made a fair offer for the instrument. It was very clear that he was looking for exceptional examples of his family's instruments that were as close to being as-new perfect as possible. This is obvious when you look at the instruments he has for sale on his website. The prices are on the higher end, but the quality of the instruments are absolutely top tier and likely worth it. In my conversation with him, he was quite honest regarding prices and what I might be able to get for the instrument in the open market. As I was in no hurry to sell, I opted to put the instrument out for public sale and it ended up going to a gentleman in Switzerland. Taking into account fees and shipping expenses, I ended up netting about $400 more than what was offered.
I sensed that Chris truly loves these instruments and their history. He was honest and forthright, and I am confident regarding his integrity. I would have absolutely no qualms about dealing with him.

Edited to add: I live in Cleveland, so dealing with HN White would have been a local sale for me.
