Buffet marked "professional" questions

A former student called me and told me a friend in college has a buffet Bb, below the Buffet logo on the upper stack the word "professional" is scribed.
I played a buffet basset horn with the same mark, was the first time I had seen a buffet marked that way.
Im curious when did Buffet scribe "professional" on their instruments? Does this "professional model" resemble any of their models current or from the past. Thanks for any info.

Is your friend's instrument a harmony clarinet? As far as I know, only Buffet basset horns, alto clarinets, bass clarinets and contra clarinets were marked "PROFESSIONAL". I actually have a "Professional" basset horn:

This marking was to distinguish their harmony clarinets from the other models, most notably the "Radio Model" alto and bass clarinets. The main difference between the Radio and Professional models (for alto and bass clarinets) is that the Professional models have a fully automatic double register vent mechanism. I believe this started in the 50s and went on through the 60s. These models would eventually become the "RC Prestige" models before the designs were changed.
