I bought my daughter a used R13 a year ago and wanted to update the barrel on her instrument. I found a used Backun Fatboy that had been used by a professional and well taken care of.
The barrel fits well until it gets almost all the way down on the tenon and then completely stops with about 2 - 2.5 mm left before meeting the rest of the clarinet. The cork is not too tight as it slides on with some tension and feels secure without any rocking. I have measured both the inside depth of the barrel and the length of the tenon on the clarinet and they measure the same. Is it possible there is a slight taper inside the barrel that would cause the barrel to not fit all the way down on the tenon?
I am a flute player and know that headjoints are often adjusted to fit flutes. Is this something that can be easily done for this barrel to fit her clarinet?

Any decent tech should be able to suss out the problem. I had a burr on the tenon just bellow the cork that caused that very issue on my R13.
