Has anyone tried the bass clarinet reeds? Also wondering what strength to order. I've been using Vandoren traditional Strength 3's.

Hi Nell, I've tried Steuer and like them a lot. I use Vandoren blue box 3's and Steuer 3's. Their reed comparison chart shows the Steuers about a quarter of a strength softer than VD traditional but I tend to the softer side anyway. Let us know how you like them if you try them. Bob's a heck of a nice guy to work with too.

I'll second tucker's comment. The reeds are very good. Bob is very knowledgeable and great to work with.

I've been extremely happy with the Steuer soprano clarinet reeds these last 3 years or so, other than the recent lag time in their delivery. I'm grateful that Bob goes to the trouble to provide them for us.
I just ordered a box. Hoping they will make as much difference with my bass playing as they have with the soprano!
