There's almost a wry strand of humor in this infamous story. The thieves entered a locked cabinet. They took the harp. They took the bassoon. They left the viola.

And the accordion joke is one better. The "thieves" smashed the window of the car that had an accordion on the back seat.....and left another accordion.

the thieves were thinking about stealing the oboe, but then remembered they would be wasting too much time of their precious lives making not only bassoon reeds but also oboe reeds
