 Any Teachers Near McLean, VA?
Author: Andy

Hi,
I was wondering if any one here know of any teachers in the McLean, VA area.I have searched the net and couldn't find anyone. I figured out just playing in Band wasn't enough to satify my clarinetting needs. If you could give me names, phone numbers, etc. It'll be great.

Andy,

You might try Foxes Music in Falls Church. They have a faculty staff made of professionals/semi-pro musicians there. I took lessons there for 2-3 years from a US Army Band Clarinetist. His students ranged from kids-teens-adults. Look them up in the Yellow Pages, if you are interested.

Good luck,

George

You might try emailing Lawrence Bocaner, recently-retired bass clarinetist of the Washington National Symphony. He may not be able to take any more students himself, but if even if not, I'm sure he could refer you to a good one. He's at:

Maybe try the the Music&arts store. There's one right in the middle of McLean on Chain Bridge Road (I believe). They usually have at least one woodwind teacher, often one of the military band members.

Al Hunt lives in McLean. He has his Doctorate from Juilliard, good performing and teaching experience.

Try Robert Little. He is from Fairfax, but The first clarinet at our school (Omar Yacoubi) gets private lessons from him, and recently made first chair all-district, and made All-virginia, so Mr. Little has to be good.
