I have two student clarinets which need pads. I found a website where you can order pads individually. I don't trust my measuring abilities. Does anyone have or know of a chart which list the sizes of pads needed for a Selmer Bundy and Yamaha YCL-26 clarinet. After reading the article on pad replacement at Sneezy I thought I would give it a try. I have isolated which pads are leaky and can see the damage in the old pads.

Trust your measuring abilities! Measure the inside diameter of the key cup using calipers (or an inside micrometer if you have one), and order your pads accordingly.

You can order complete pad sets quite cheaply from places like the woodwind & brasswind in Southbend Indiana. You can order a few sets and pick out which ones fit. I think they are around $9.00 a set.

The Bundy will take one 9 mm pad, ten 10mm pads, two 12mm pads and four 17mm pads. I've never worked on a Yamaha 26 so I can't tell you the exact pad sizes for it.

I noticed in the Ferree's catalog that Vito's require thicker pads (medium-thick) and are the only clarinet so listed. John, do you know what the set for a Vito 40 would be comprised of?

Fred,
I don't remember all the instrument pad sizes by memory. If my memory isn't failing me I believe it has ten 10mm in the upper joint with one 8.5mm for the F#. In the bottom joint there should be two 11.5mm, three 16.5mm and one 15.5mm. Tell Ferree's that you want a pad set for a Vito and they'll send it or if you want contact me by email. I'll sell you a LeBlanc pad set for a Vito. I'm supposed to be getting a couple of sets Vito pad sets in from LeBlanc in the next day or two. I only ordered them in order to make an minimum order for a set of alto clarinet pads. I'm only making this offer to FRED! I'm not in the pad supply business. (Is that okay Mark?)
