I recently purchased a set of Yamaha CSG-IIIs. I was performing Stravinsky's Three Pieces, and in the first movement especially clicks of keys interrupted/were distracting. I love the horns, but there is an awful lot of sound as pinky keys/alternates are used. Is there any way to mend this?

Yes -- any great technician can address this issue. This is not a problem specific to Yamaha, as it can be found on any clarinet that hasn't had a professional overhaul, or has been used enough to wear down the cork bumpers and other materials used to silence the mechanism.

My first thought is you have metal to metal contact going on. Yamaha horns should be very quiet. Have a tech look at it or send the horn to me at no charge, if you live in the USA. The CSG111's are fine horns. I've tested them and love the huge even sound. Maybe a cork fell off or you are missing a silicone insert. It's probably a 5 minute fix.
