I'm looking for pros and cons of this bell. I'm partially looking in to getting it because the ring on my R13 is always loose. I know it's because of the weather and where I live (eastern New Mexico). Any input will help. Thank you!

I haven't tried one, but I know they're very thin-walled; the anti-MoBa fat-boy bells, as it were. I find that thin-walled bells respond better; make the whole instrument respond better. The down side is that they are more fragile.

I know you can get the ICON barrels in greenline (special order) ... I wonder if the bells are available in this alternate material as well?
I'll bet that the lighter/thinner material DOES respond better ... remember the Buffet Elite clarinet?
Check out Brad Behn's hard rubber bells ... light weight and durable.

Plus Brad's hard rubber bell has a vent hole. It helps with my intonation on my 'lower pad' notes.

I have icon bells, just like how the instrument feels. Haven't had any problems with fragility, but if I dropped a clarinet and only broke the bell I'd consider myself lucky.
