Haven't played for about a month. Started back with 2.5 reed and suddenly cannot seem to play the register C5-C6 without squeak..can seldom sound the note. Frustrating. Don't know what to check. Tried a second reed but no improvement. Fingering changing doesn't seem to help. What is suggested I do or try? May be practice each note with same reed? More practice? Just cannot seem to make the note when before I could. Lower register is fine. What do others do?

Go to a softer reed for a few days until you get your chops back.

Is 2-1/2 the strength you played before?

 2, 2-1/2 and 3 usually. I am going to try a 3 and a 2 now.

Well, I tried the Rico 3 reed and it worked perfectly. So did not try a 2 yet but if I have one I shall. Not accustomed to deciding right quickly what to do.
So needed a tip. Thanks. Have to learn what to do in emergency.
