There exists a recording of this long, and very interesting clarinet concerto by Artie Shaw on SoundCloud. It's perhaps just a little on the rambling rhapsodic side, but nevertheless very interesting. In addition to this, its is fascinating to hear Artie Shaw play Classical music. Berezowsky is just about totally forgotten, which is a great pity. I seem to recall that the French clarinetist Cahuzac also played something composed by him. Let me know what you think of this recording, friends!

This recording was included in the Book-of-the-Month Club LP set "Artie Shaw--A Legacy," which also featured Shaw's performance of the Mozart Clarinet Quintet and Alexander Krein's Hebrew Sketches for clarinet and string quartet.
On the Berezowsky, Leon Barzin led the National Youth Symphony at Carnegie Hall in 1948. In the booklet included with the record set, Shaw said he had premiered the concerto the previous year with the Denver Symphony. He met Russian violinist Berezowsky when the two of them were both working as staff musicians for CBS. Berezowsky wrote the peice originally for viola, and it was performed by William Primrose. Shaw said he spent almost three months practicing the adaptation because some of the passages were awkward on clarinet. His favorite movement was the third.
SoundCloud also offers Shaw's performance of the Mozart Clarinet Quintet.
