Can anyone confirm if the lines in the attached pictures of recently purchased YCL-650 case are normal (perhaps seams) or represent scratches (perhaps having occurred during shipping)?

These cases are covered with some kind of vinyl and the seams on the corners are sealed by being heated. The case itself is formed from polystyrene granules which are much smaller than those used for packaging.

I just purchased a brand new YCL-650 and loving it so far!
Laboring thru break-in period ... can't wait to use it on a regular basis with my Ridenour Lyrique clarinets and others ... The dealer in Memphis had a bunch of 650s to choose from, much to my joy. I've had an eye/ear/embouchure on one for a while ...
Will see if this instrument hold up as well as the Lyrique Libertas ... in 2 1/2 years (gosh has it been that long?) only had one bad pad and one key cork problem.
I own other wood instruments but this it's been long time since I've broken-in a new one. I hate the process, but better done in the fall than the winter.
And, the clarinet case/cover is as described above ... not pretty and very little space for any accessories. I'd like to buy clarinets in cardboard boxes and select my case. My stand partner (in one band that I play) immediately ditched his factory case and bought an after-market. BTW, that is why I purchased a YCL-650 ... I borrowed his many times ... but you know, mine plays warmer and more compact, by just a little, I think ...?
I've been a Yamaha fan for decades ... just wonder why their professional market share is not bigger ... ? Perhaps they make up for it by having such a large student following.
