Had the rare, exciting opportunity to meet Ramon Wodkowski today and watch him work on an old B&H mouthpiece for me.
I am an amateur, self-taught and without any sort of clarinet credentials, so it was a thrill to meet this talented young man and share an hour's conversation about Boosey clarinets, Kell's mouthpieces, and even his impressions of ICA conferences. And I got to walk away with a wonderfully customized 1940s-era B&H mouthpiece (I had not known its history).
It's a thrill for me to watch young people coming up and making outstanding, first-rate names for themselves. I feel Ramon is one such person: motivated, highly talented, and (most of all) truly interested in the history of clarinet and mouthpieces.
A lucky day for me.

I had the pleasure of working with Ramon a couple of weeks ago when he stopped by Michigan. He is wonderful to work with, and he made me a fantastic mouthpiece. I echo all of the above sentiments. Ramon is quite knowledgeable and has a wealth of information on the history of our instrument, and the evolution of mouthpieces
