 Marcus Bonna fitting questions
Author: JHowell

Those of you who have a Marcus Bonna double, I have a couple of questions. Holding two R13s. First, I assume that you orient the detachable pad that presses down on the joints so that it presses on all four joints, north-south as you look into the case. Has that caused anyone any problems with the low E rod? Seems like kind of a lot of pressure on that high point.

When the upper joints are situated as they would be in a normal case, with the holes facing directly up, the Bb upper joint trill keys interfere with the A C#/G# key. If I rotate each joint toward me so that the trill keys contact the foam block, there is no interference, but does the pressure of the overhead pad sufficiently immobilize them, or can they rotate in travel?

It seems to me that holding the joints only by the ends may solve some problems, but creates others.
