  Noblet Laureate
Author: Ben Shaffer

I just bought a Noblet 45 off someone on eBay.
Overall the Horn looks very nice.
What is intriguing to me is an etched Floral design on the Bell of the Horn.
Does anyone know the story behind this design
Also Ive seen Noblet Laureates with the name itself and Ive also seen these horns with just the Floral pattern. Does the Horn need to have the name on it to be considered a Laureate? Also what makes this horn any better than a plain old Noblet 45?

That's far more tasteful and restrained than I expected - almost like the Selmer (Paris) CT Omega from the '50s. Nicely done! I mean that sincerely (and I mean that sincerely).

When I first read the title I expected the horrendous Selmer USA Omega style bell engraving from more recently. At least they had the decency not to fill it all in with gold otherwise it should come with a public health warning and supply welding goggles with it:

The 1950s Selmer Omega wreath was quite large, continuing up onto the lower joint. What saved it was that it was not filled with gold crayon. I've seen one with gold-filled engraving, and it looks over the top, but with unfilled engraving it looks fancy but handsome.
