I'm looking to upgrade from my 5rv lyre and my local music store only stocks vandorens (To my knowledge). I'm looking at Clark Fobes, Grabner, Richard Hawkins, and Pyne mouthpieces. What's the best way to try most of these if not all? I really don't want to have to deal with multiple charges and bother my parents more than once. Also where are the best black Friday deals for mouthpieces? If there's no way to trial all of them which ones would be most worthwhile to trial? Or would should I just bite the bullet and order a single mouthpiece and save my self the hassle?

God I hope we haven't gotten to the point where music stores open on Thanksgiving and stay open for 24 hrs the day after!
I believe that most internet entities will allow a trial period where you "pay" for whatever number you put on your card but get refunded the difference on the ones you send back (minus a cleaning fee or restocking fee). Even the biggest retailers I can think of can only stock a certain number of mouthpiece brands.

I don't know of an Internet retailer that stocks Fobes, Grabner (those have to be directly ordered from Walter, right?), Hawkins, and Pyne.
The only way to trial those mouthpieces against one another is to arrange the purchases so that their trials overlap. And there are some great mouthpieces there -- just trialing 7 Grabners can be a mind-bending process if you don't know exactly what you want.

I'm pretty sure that part about Grabner is true, but I just looked at Weiner Music and they actually have Hawkins Pyne and Fobes and WWBW has Fobes and Pyne.

Gosh I don't know if you're still looking, but I found a GREAT local resource (local to us anyway) today!
Gary Underwood of Winter Park Florida is a "mouthpiece guy." He refaces; collects; sells; advises. He has a whole bunch of really classic mouthpieces for sale (what we were talking about), but I'm sure he has newer brands as well).

You must keep in mind Mr. Underwood WORKS on mouthpieces so he can adjust elements to your style of play. He also can work as a guide to aid your quest.
Price is a gross aspect of the equation. Some things just cannot be quantified.
And I doubt you'd find a place like this anywhere else near enough to just pop in.
