Hi,
Does anyone know of any good clarinet and harp duets, a search of imslp turned up not much interesting and my teacher didn't know of any.
I'd prefer them to be duets and not just clarinet pieces with harp accompaniment.
Thanks

Damase- sonata for clarinet and harp.
Bochsa also wrote several duos, but they're not that interesting.

J. G. Heinrich Backofen wrote a Concertante (op. 7) for harp and basset horn.

Last week I heard one of the three Gymnopédies from Satie performed on clarinet and harp. (I don't know who arranged it). It was played musically well, and it worked ok for this composition except that it appeared very difficult to obtain acceptable harmony regarding intonation.
I thought about this, because the clarinetist was a very good one who should have done better. And now I realise the harp sound is very pure, almost without any overtones so the clarinet has to play perfectly well tempered.

Thanks for your replies, I've ordered the Victorian Kitchen Garden suite.
I'll let you all know how we get on.

At imslp you'll find the very nice romantic Capriccio op. 73 by the German harpist and composer Franz Poenitz (1850-1912) and a also nice transcription for clarinet in A of the Serenade op. 28 by Luigi Maurizio Tedeschi (1867-1944) (originally for violin and harp)

Stumbled on this one while looking up some of the suggestions here. Beautiful.
Ghidoni, Jazzy Celtic Suite for Clarinet and Piano (or Harp).

By coincidence I was in a shop looking at CDs yesterday, and I saw one that was viola and harp duets. Of course, if the pieces employ double stops on the viola, they won't work, but maybe with a bit of transposing some of the pieces would work well. I'm sorry that isn't a very specific lead, but the idea of other instruments with harp might be a useful idea.
