My new favorite version, despite the brief interruptions between movements. I searched the board and found a number of positive comments (from years ago) on this recording, and also some opinions that Neidich rushes, or even shows off. I get "quick" from this, even "exciting", especially the finale; to my ears it works musically. After all, this composition is a bit of an operatic showpiece, such as Rossini was a master at writing.

I dislike Rossini and the Intro, Theme, and Variations, but this is still one of my favorite clarinet recordings. It isn't new though; I think it was released in the early 90's along with the Weber concerti.
If you can find it, check out Neidich's Naumburg recording of the Mozart and Weber quintets with the Mendelssohn String Quartet--some absolutely brilliant clarinet playing.

Neidich's performance of Faure's violin pieces are absolutely fantastic as well!
