Sorry this is not about clarinets, but I can't find no one who knows. I have a maple Conn bassoon and I was wondering if anyone know what I can put on the outside to make the wood shine?? Also can also maybe give me an idea of when it might of been made? The number is 2384.

I like the "Butcher's" brand of paste waxes. They make a clear version (marketed for bowling alleys) and one with an amber tint.
Do be careful applying anything around the linkages, this stuff will migrate into the works.

Butcher's Bowling Alley Wax is available in most larger hardware stores --- down here I got some at a Home Depot. I also like it for wood clarinets --- it is a hard paste wax in a turpentine base, which does a decent job cleaning the wood before the shine goes on.
