Hello everyone,
I am gonna post a really stupid message, but who cares...
As Some would say it's D-Day minus one for me.
Tomorow I am gonna be fighting in the infame war called swiss national music competition..
Guess what ? I am the only tourist that hasn't even passed the 20 years of age and that hasn't got a Conservatoire diploma or postgrad diploma.
Other competitiors all play way better than me..
Pieces are hard (Lutoslawski, Dance preludes, Martinu, Sonatine, Niels W. Gade, Fantaisiestycker, Armin Schibler, concertino)
Tuff.... I'll go there, and do my best...
I suppose you have guessed what I want from you all....
A little could do to de stress me....
THANX A MILLION
Daniel

Daniel -
So? The Supercompetitors you're concerned about all started somewhere :]
...and they haven't reached flawless perfection yet. They're still competing - with You!
Don't get caught up in the 'how'm I doin?' state of mind - comparing yourself to others is a futile, distracting waste of time and energy. Just play the horn - the best you can. There's no point judging yourself; it won't help one iota and, besides, judging's 'their' job... yours is to make music. It helps immeasureably if you can have fun while you're at it. Believe me, the judges have butterflies too.
Help them.

Daniel, have a wonderful attitude (I am recalling the way you turned your London adventure into a good experience), and deserve to do well. If good thoughts help, then you will have lots of help. Best of luck,
Ginny

Daniel,
Great choice of pieces - what are you so worried about - it's a performance not an execution!
Have a good time, and good luck.
Dave.
