I remember hearing him live years ago which was great - the running gag was that everything was in A flat culminating in "The Way We Were - in a flat".

As I think I have said before, love him or loathe him - I personally liked his sound and style - he certainly did an enormous amount to raise the profile of the instrument.

He did quite a lot to draw interest and attention to the world of New Orleans style clarinet.
