Hi Bboard, Last night I played a really fun pops concert of all John Williams music. I was playing an older Ridenour Arioso low C bass clarinet (that belongs to a friend) and a Grabner mouthpiece. ( with Vandoren Optimum Lig ) I am the only bass clarinet in the 70+ member band. Not only was I able to be heard over the band when necessary, but I have received many compliments on my tone. I understand that the current Ridenour basses are even better than the one I played. I cant wait to try one.
oh, I also used a Legere 2.75 reed. Just thought I'd share.

We had a new member come into our community band recently. He also plays a Ridenour bass (the standard Low Eb model). I can vouch for how good these instruments sound. He had a beautiful tone to his playing.
Disclaimer: I have a business arrangement with Ridenour Clarinet Products.
