I own one that's not elastic, that features the ability to attach a steel post to the center of the clarinet, not unlike what one might do if using a music lyre in marching band, only the steel post comes out pependicular to the clarinet in the back, not the front.
The strap then attaches to this steel post.
This steel post is not unlike the neckstrap extension rod on this webpage:

only it has groves in it to clip the clarinet strap on to rather than the hook at the end of the rod featured at the above website.
Does BG still sell straps with this feature?

I just got a new BG neck strap, my second. I use their elastic strap and adjust it to "float" the mouthpiece close to where I will play it. The strap lets me move the clarinet around without having to change the adjustment (e.g., to swab).
This strap came with two simple leather adapters. They are different sizes and each has a slit for the thumb rest and a hole for the strap hook. It is serviceable, but it can take two hands to engage the hook with the

I've been using one for about 8-years, and (surprise!) the rubber o-ring is still solid.
