Has anyone used this stand? It is supposed to suit flutes as well which makes me wonder how stable it is for clarinets.

It appears that this peg screws into the "parent" Herc. stand. I haven't used this one but a different peg in my Bass Clarinet Herc. stand which works just fine. Herc. stands are known to be reliable.

They make several different models of stand. I have the triple one for clarinet flute and piccolo. I tend to use the flute prong more for my Eb clarinet as I don't tend to use my flute much in band. The flute and clarinet prongs look exactly the same to me with only the piccolo one being much smaller.
The triple stand is pretty compact and relatively stable for its size. I wouldn't advise running into one though ;-). I often have to make quick changes between instruments sometimes in the same piece of music. It has been fine in accommodating the switches. I think the screw in pegs are designed to be used with several different Hercules models and are interchangable to the base.

I intend to use them (4 x DS602B) on their Bassoon/Bass clarinet stand and I am ordering the lot from the same store, but I am afraid the soprano clarinets, especially the A clarinet, will not sit so firmly on them as this peg seems so thin. The peg that I initially chose for this seems to be discontinued so I have to find something else and the store happens to offer this hercules peg.

I use this peg on the single tripod Hercules Stand (DS640BB) and I think it works really well.
The spring loaded top is great because if your aim for the peg is ever off, the spring compresses rather than pushing hard against the inside of the bell.
The clarinets fit nicely on the bottom of the peg.
I would reccomend it, and think you will be happy with it for Bb and A clarinets.

ps. If you are basing your thought on the picture on the Hercules website, then your concern is understandable. The bottom of the peg is much broader than it looks on the website
