I have just bought a used clarinet from an op shop (for better or worse). I am wanting to learn to play clarinet. It appears in very good condition although I think it is reasonably old. All the keys seem to be in good condition.Would someone have any information on it's age/player level?
It is marked Holton and has a serial number B80919 and below this is a 612. (On both main parts). It also has the Holton logo in several places. The mouthpiece may be of different origin as it has "Wind Company" and Vito 11 on it as well as the Holton logo. I have checked a couple of websites with the serial numbers, but they don't seem consistent with the details I can find on this clarinet.
I would appreciate whatever information anyone can give me.

If it's plastic, then it's most likely the same clarinet as a plastic Vito which are very sturdy clarinets, based on the wooden Noblets (which were made by Leblanc).

what Chris P said. 612 indicates a Vito. The serial number probably makes it around 1975 or so.
