A while back I decided it was time to close my JB Linear Music woodwind sheet music web site. Overall, expenses were rising and sales were flat, so this seemed like a good time to withdraw. If you are unfamiliar, my site sold sheet music for woodwinds from 21 composers/arrangers. This has been strictly an online operation for about 13 of the 15 years since I started the business. The closing date will be after July 5th this week.
I just wanted to thank all those who purchased music at the web site and I hope you will continue to enjoy it. Doing all those arrangements and selling them or giving them away in the monthly freebie newsletter was fun for me. I will continue to arrange music, by the way, and will have many of my pieces on other sheet music web destinations....just no longer on my own site.
It shocks me to know that my site accumulated 860 separate pieces of woodwind music, 80% of which was music I arranged. It all started with 4 transcriptions of Rossini overtures for clarinet duet. It is amazing what you can accomplish when you just keep at it. Clarinet players will be happy to know that the most purchased item was a Bach piece for unaccompanied clarinet. After that came Christmas music which always was a good seller. I was one of those people who started working on Christmas things during the summer months.
I would also like to thank those composers/arrangers who made such high quality contributions to the music list. Their talents added a huge amount of value to the site. Sorry for the long list, but I want to thank each one of them:
Matt Doran, Timoteus Racz, Liz Leehey and Joe Armstrong, Marten King, Anamaria Campbell, Spike Maiden Müller, Simeon Loring, Kevin Ure, Joe Procopio, Matthew Wilson, Lisa Ochoco, Claudia Bissett, Gary Nash, Len Anderson, Ron Wray, Antonio Fraioli, John Cipolla, Stephen Theofanous, and John Bresnahan.
Thank you all!

John -
You've been an inspiration to us all for many years. I grieve to see your site go, but I rejoice in what you've accomplished. And I really hope for your continued participation here.
Please leave up as much as you can on the Wayback Machine and consider contributing your periodic free downloads to their library or putting them in the JB Linear shell.

Hey John! I've really enjoyed your work. I've purchased from you and used your music to perform holiday music at a homeless shelter in Chicago. It really brought a lot of happiness to the audience. Thanks for making a clarinet duet enjoyable for more than just the performers!

Thank, folks. Over the years I have had two main slogans: Music you have always wanted; and Have Fun Playing. That pretty much says it all, except that it was often really "Music --I-- have always wanted"
