I replaced all pads on my clarinet by myself. It's Valentino green-back pad(not sticker type). I sent my clarinet to repairman to check and got it back. When I play low F- only one pad open, there is a noise like strong wind pass through the tone hole. On next G, little less. All other notes, it plays just wonderfully. The old C buffet clarinet which was restored by same repairman also has all valentino pads and has same problem. I know I have to bring them to repairman but he is one hour drive away and hard to get a time to go there. I'll go anyway but I want to know what could it be. Thanks in advance.

Charles, it could be that the remaining open tone (when playing low F) hole does not have enough clearance between the hole and the pad. The remedy to this is to adjust the mechanism so that a greater gap exists when the pad is open. This could require the slight 'bending' upwards of the pad cup (or reseating the pad so it protrudes less). Your repairman should be able to take care of this. Hope this helps
