Just discovered this Bb clarinet lying on the shelf of a local high school. It has a school number and is being played by a student, but I cannot wait to get my hands on it to see how it plays. I was just intreged by the unique serial number, LOL.

From what some would say is THE Golden Age of Buffet. Between 1966 and 1972, some feel, was their very best period.

I had an E11 with a serial # 424242. Certainly nothing special about the way it played.

The E11 was a Schreiber German made intermediate level clarinet and bears no resemblance to a Buffet R13 despite carrying the Buffet logo.
The newer E11 models although now made made in France are arguably no better than the German made ones.

i used to have a leblanc opus clarinet Serial number 3. From what I understand, numbers 1 and 2 were owned by the leblanc corporation and Larry Combs respectively, and the person I bought it from put in a order right away and got number 3. It was a good horn.
