 Clarinettist soloist at the 2012 Nobel Prize Ceremony!

Yesterday my orchestra The Royal Stockholm Phil participated at the annual Nobel Prize Ceremony at the Stockholm Concert Hall. This year Swedish clarinettist Emil Jonason was the soloist in Gershwin: Prelude No. 1 (version for clarinet and strings) and Rossini: from Theme and Variations (with his own cadenza).

You'll find Gershwin at 45:20 and Rossini at 54:25. Enjoy!

Wow! An amazing performance! He demonstrates circular breathing and I'm guessing that he is double tonguing some of those passages. I like how he quotes the Gershwin in his cadenza. Thanks so much for posting this!

Emil does double tongue quite well (haven't heard this yet, but I know from another recording I have of him).
