Last night, through connections made with the ACMP (Amateur Chamber Music Players acmp.org), I sat with a string quartet in Las Vegas and played those two glorious compositions.
I live in a small town that doesn't have many folks who can "sit on Brahm's piano bench," and ACMP allowed me to make contact with fellow players in this larger city and visit with them while traveling.
My first time to play either of these pieces with an ensemble.
It was worth the years of work!

Oh my god Bob I would just die to do that. The last time I played them both with a string quartet was when I was 17 and at college! Something to savour forever :-)

I have this opportunity coming up for me. I am 16 years old, and I will be playing the Brahms with a professional string quartet. I am so excited, but also very nervous. Not only that, but next week I am starting to rehearse the Weber clarinet concertino with my school orchestra! Sorry, I don't want to sound like I am showing off or anything, but I am just so damn excited! I just thought I would bring it up as it was the topic of this discussion. Congratulations, I hope you enjoyed playing these wonderful works!
Any advice/tips/help...?
Thanks
