Conn 444N

Just finished a complete overhaul of a Conn 444N circa 1949. Great mechanics and design. Most keys have tiny set screws that lock in the pivot screws which do not have a head on so they can be tightened into the post. Also has several adjustment screws that most other professional clarinets lack. Lateral movement of keys can be adjusted instead of swedging and or using shims. Came with a 64MM barrel which tunes to 442. Tried a 66MM barrel which tunes to 440. Plays with great power but also can whisper very sweetly. This evening I will give it the side by side test with my 1969 R13.

The pre-war Conn professional clarinets are often overlooked which is a shame since many of them are actually excellent players.
