Just a question concerning name of reeds, used mostly with Selmer c* mps. I have tried Lavoz. V16s and Java. I think all good reeds but seem to be lacking for me. Would appreciate youre thoughts and suggestions. Thanks and regards Herb.

I have a C* and I use a Rico Select Jazz - strength 3M to 3H. They work quite well.

I would suggest Alexander Superial.
It is made of genuine Var cane and very thin tip as good old days reeds to
enable emission of ppp to fff.

I like Peter Ponzol. Use 3.5's with a Selmer C*; I'm mainly play Wind Ensemble and classical (Glazunov, Creston) stuff though. As of late, I've been too lazy after working with my clarinet reeds to care so I use a Legere 3.5...sounds good enough, and there's never a problem with warping. =)

My favorite sax reed of all time is the Superial. Manufactured by Tom Alexander in Japan. His inspiration was due to his frustration at not finding reeds that were suitable for his tastes. I love his clarinet reeds as well, especially the classique.
