Hello all,
I'm wondering what the best and most universal edition is out there for Spohr's Concerto no. 1. I have the International edition (edited by Stanley Drucker). Is this version decent?
Thanks

The only other edition that I know of is the Peter's Edition. I assume this is the version that was published in the 19th C.
The Drucker version I'm sure is fine. I own his editions of the 2nd and 3rd concertos as well as the Peter's editions of the 1st and 2nd and the Breitkof edition of the 4th.

You might still be able to find a copy of the Southern Music edition but I doubt it would be any better than what you have. If you want a copy of the Peters Edition to compare to your International edition, you can get it for free at IMSLP.
Best regards,
