Hello,
I just started playing the clarinet a little over a year ago, now I notice that one of the pads is comingout and the others are in bad shape, its a plastic VITO clarinet and I was just wondering approximately how much it would cost to get it fixed usually.
I was also wondering what people think about the Vandoren 5RV Lyre mouthpiece and what a possible ligature to go with it would be, I have been told the ligature that is included with it is not of the highest quality.
Thank you for your help!

You need to ask your local repairman. It may be anywhere from $10 to $100 depending on how many need replaced. If it were to need a complete overhaul (unlikely but possible), it could go higher.

The 5RV is a good mouthpiece. There are so many good ligatures available. One that I like on it is the Luyben ligature. In addition to working well, it is quite inexpensive.

Hoi,

Mabye you can repair it yourself. You have to buy new pads. Than you have to put the others out of the holes. You can do some candle-grease in the holes, you make the holes and the candle-grease hot and put in the right new pad. You have to push on the key and than the pad is taking the right position.
If you don't want to do it yourself you can ask a clarinetrepairer but it will cost more money. Other wise if it goes wrong and you have to ask it a professional it will cost you double money.
I don't know something about the mouthpiece, but I know everyone has an other mouthpiece which fit him/her.
If you have money and you will continue playing the clarinet I can give you a tip. Buy a wooden one, because it sounds much better.
