Hi all.
I'm writing a research paper on the history and the development of the clarinet quartet (4 clarinets of any sizes), but I'm having a hard time finding any valuable resources. Does anybody know of any books/articles/websites containing any information about this subject? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Try Wikipedia under 'Clarinet choir'. The references might be of help. R

if you're writing a research paper, most likely wikipedia is going to be a questionable resource. Scroll down the wiki page and take a look at some of the sources and references they use, and then use those for your own.

I respectfully suggest going to your school's music library and studying clarinet literature firsthand. That should give you a real sense of what questions you need to be asking and generate some ideas of where to look for the answers. You'll also gain some valuable insight on the subject that, short of performing or conducting the works yourself, can't be acquired otherwise.
As a musical instrument collector and researcher, I can tell you that there just isn't a substitute for having evidence sitting right in front of you for your personal, direct examination.
