(Polka, anyone?)
Just accquired a handmade barrel from Alan Segal. He does lovely work and is easy to communicate with. I got a "fatboy" type and it plays beautifully.
Anyone else here play his barrels?

YES...... AMAZING barrels !!!!!
And my requirement is for the shortest size of the Yamaha CSG which NO OTHER custom maker will do (funny, I thought they claimed to make CUSTOM barrels).
Bravo DR. Alan Segal !!!

I got an opportunity to try two Allan Segal barrels made for someone else's instrument and they were GREAT! REALLY smooth and beautiful sounding. If I was going to buy custom, I'd buy his.

Allan's barrels are right up there with any of the other custom barrel makers.
I have two of his barrels and have since acquired another one other in a trade for a Backun which I had as a spare. All three of his barrels are beautifully made and are compatible with my R13's and particular mouthpiece set-up. I've performed frequently with all of them and have always been very pleased.
He's great to work with and always goes the extra mile to see that you are satisfied.
Definitely one of the good guys in the music accessory business.

I'm sure he'll chime in with a response. It wouldn't surprise me. He does really nice custom work.
