Wow, I was in the store the other day and just came face to face by accident looking in another direction... with a 10 CD Sidney Bechet pack for $14.99. Well, that goes right under the Christmas tree!
Imagine 10 CD's!!!
Hoping to learn more about the art of playing...

There are two sides to every coin. One side says, a lot of those recordings are Bechet playing soprano sax. The other side says, who cares, it's great anyway.

I don't think I've come across THAT cd set but I've got most of his stuff. Tony is probably right about much of it being Sidney on his Buescher Sop sax and that is great too. A very interesting person who, it is said, whittled down a piece of wood for a reed once and who carried his clarinet in his pockets.
